Queen of Hearts - Alice in Wonderland 1951
"All ways, are MY ways!"
Feeling empowered and fancy in this emulation as the Queen of Hearts from Disney's 'Alice in Wonderland'. Such a classic tale of girl meets rabbit, girl eats mushrooms, girl discovers that daydreams are not always the best places to live. I've always admired the queens willingness to accept Alice and allow her to play a game with them. Quite gracious actually, until that bit about 'off with her head'. Not all of us can keep calm and live, laugh, love, ya know.
Miss Spider - James and the Giant Peach (1996)
Such a lovely story of how a small kindness can end up saving you in the end. This character protects James to return a favor he had done for her when she was small and helpless. Be kind always.
Maleficent - Sleeping Beauty (1959)
Maybe one of the most misunderstood villains out there. This character was so frightening to me as a child. Mainly the flames and the crow spy. The thought of forest animals working to do the bidding of a revenge driven sorceress was terrifying. Her class and elegance have always been something I've admired.
Hades - Hercules (1997)
"Name's Hades, Lord of the dead. Hi, how ya doin'?"
I relate to Hades in that he's always a step away from achieving his goals and the Pain and Panic step in to ruin things. It's not so much that Hercules was a better opponent, it's just that he had better help.
Hades: So you took care of him, huh? "Dead as a doornail." Weren't those your exact words?
Pain: This might be a different Hercules!
Panic: Yeah. I mean, Hercules is a very popular name nowadays.
Pain: Remember like a few years ago, every other boy was named Jason and the girls were all named Britney?
Hades: I'm about to rearrange the cosmos... and the one schlemiel who can louse it up... is waltzing around IN THE WOODS!
Evil Queen - Snow White (1937)
This OG villain has been terrifying people for over 80 years! It's the age old tale of vanity and jealousy getting in the way of just being happy for what you have. Honestly, the queen had a henchman and a castle equipped with a magic mirror. Why did she need to be the 'fairest of them all' anyways?
