"Good afternoon, Mr. Bailey." -Violet Bick "Hello, Violet. Hey, you look good, that's some dress you got on there." -George Bailey "This old thing? Why, I only wear it when I don't care how I look." -Violet Bick It's a Wonderful Life ------------------- This week we explored some classic Christmas favorites. My personal favorite holiday story is 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". It's a timeless tale of characters searching for a place to belong, a place to feel wanted. I've always related most to the oddballs on "Misfit Toy Island". As I've gotten older I've come to realize that I'm...
"You just do it. You force yourself to get up. You force yourself to put one foot before the other, and God damn it, you refuse to let it get to you." - Elizabeth Taylor, has always been, and always will be, my queen. From her early classic beauty roles, to her cooky and more intense later characters, she showed us that she is very much more then just a pretty face. With the scandals and the jewels, the furs and the rumors, she was the 'dripping in diamonds', 'Hollywood Glamour', diva we were blessed to have experienced.
This fabulous, made for TV movie, is a little known secret that I cherish dearly. Angela Lansbury is a treasure, and this film exhibits exactly why I feel this way. The emotion and the relatable vibrance she gives us is a true gift. If you have never seen this, I highly recommend giving it a view. Dream big my darlings!
Barbara Streisand is one of my all time favorite actresses/singers. Her range of talent is extraordinary and her style is very unique. She stayed true to herself throughout her entire career. From Hello Dolly!, to Funny Girl, and The Guilt Trip, she has kept us laughing for decades. My most cherished role she plays is Judy Maxwell in the film 'What's Up Doc?" If you haven't seen this screwball romantic comedy, I suggest you grab some popcorn and get cozy with it.
Maggie Smith is my inspiration for today's emulation. Her grace and beauty are classic and timeless. She is full of wit and spunk and her characters allow her to exhibit that brilliantly. Over her career, her roles have given us a strong female ideal that we can look up to. Today, I am wearing my favorite faux fur and feeling elegant just like the lovely Granny Wendy from the movie Hook. Love ya'll!
