Georgia O'Keeffe

My inspiration today is drawing from my most cherished artist, Georgia O'Keeffe. Her way of expressing life and landscape as one in the same, always left me awe struck. She could take something typically seen as morbid, such as a cow skull, and interpret it into a beautifully breathtaking painting. Her subtle hand with watercolors is unmatched, and the way she can juxtapose life and death so delicately is fascinating.

Georgie Okeeffe Emulation by Rebekah

I remember being in 5th grade and learning about her work. She decided when she was only 10 years old, that she wanted to be an artist. Thereafter, she focused, and became an artist. I also decided to become an artist at a young age... However, I also decided that I loved to travel. My travels have certainly influenced my art and made me the person I am today, much as her studies helped shape her path in life. Today I've chosen my favorite flowy floral skirt to emulate this magnificent artist that the universe gifted us with. May her spirit live on in the way her art inspires us all to find beauty in nature.
